End of Week 12
Well, if you look at the tracker on the top right you will notice that I have reached the middle. I have lost 39 lbs and have 39lbs to go. Lost 1 pound this week. It has been a bit tough yesterday and today getting myself back on track with Ideal Protein. I didn't feel hungry while I was following the program without cheating. Having a weekend of eating "normal" foods and having a couple desserts was okay but it has meant that while trying to get back on track I have been feeling hungry. And truthfully, some of my motivation is fading. One wedding is down. 41/2 wks till the next one. I do need to hit the 50lb loss by Sept 10 though. I want to fit my outfit comfortably. I may re assess my weight goal at that point however. Anyway, this is rambling. Keeping on the path to better health.

End of week 11
38 lbs down.
I had hoped to hit the 43 lb mark by the time of Daniel's wedding on Saturday. I can't see losing 5 lbs before Saturday. Now while I would dearly have loved to have reached that goal I have to be happy with what I have done so far.
I wonder if I can lose 50lbs by the time of David's wedding on Sept 10.
Anyway, I am going to try really hard to not obsess over my weight and enjoy this weekend celebrating the wedding of Daniel and Tara. I plan to eat healthy and try to not gain this week. Then I have 5 weeks to try to lose 12 lbs.
One more step on the path to healthiness.

36 lbs down
Can I do it; can I hit 43lbs lost by Aug 6th? I do so want to hit that goal.

I do know that I need to do more exercise. I want to lose at least another 10 lbs before wedding #1 although 12 lbs (making a 40 lb total) would be a nice number to lose.

June 28 End of Week 6
I missed posting last week as I ended up coming home from work for medical reasons. After a visit to the Dr. I was put off work Wed and Thurs and of course Fri was July 1 (Happy 144 Birthday Canada) then the weekend. Now today Monday is my regular EDO.
I did purchase my dress for wedding #1 yesterday and was able to buy a size 14. (I had previously been wearing a size 20). So my loss is definitely showing in my clothes.
I think I may do my weigh and measure tonight instead of tomorrow as I suspect I may be very tired tomorrow after my first day back at work.
Check back for an updated weigh and measure. And thanks everyone for all the support

End of week 5
I found this week difficult week to stay on track.
On Sunday I took Mr. D to see Kung fu Panda 2, my first 3D experience.
I knew going in that the temptation to have popcorn would be strong and it was.
I am disappointed with myself to say that I gave in and had popcorn and a drink.
Weighing myself tonight, end of week 5, I only lost 1 lb this week.
24 pounds in total so far. I should be happy but I lost 11 lbs in week one and want to see the weight coming off faster.
Guess I just have to be more disciplined with the exercise.

End of Week 4 One Month In
Well one month in and still plugging along. 2.8lb weight loss this week which means that I have lost
22.8lbs in 4 weeks.
Had to go buy a new pair of pants as my pants were falling down at work. (2 sizes smaller)
Well on to month two. I am thinking of the song.....I will survive.

The Bike
Well I did it. I determined to start some exercise today..............start of week 4.
I got onto my bike right after work determined to do some biking.
I wanted to stop after only 30 seconds. Yes, that is right, 30 seconds. My knees ached, I huffed and puffed. But I perservered and lasted a whole 8 and a half minutes. Yeah for me!

End of Week 3
Yesterday I was finally able to meet my Coach Alicia face to face. What a great meeting. We seemed to connect right away. We had a wonderful visit and I also got some ideas for spicing up my meals.
Well week three was a decent week.
-5lbs

End of Week Two
I thought about posting many times this week but it seems so hard sometimes to put thoughts into words. I haven't found the diet exceptionally difficult to stick with (the ideal protein foods taste so good) but my mind still struggles with the things that I can't have.
So today ends week two. Day 14. Weigh myself day.
I really didn't know what to expect but I knew not to expect a week like last week.
So I gingerly stepped on the scale to discover that I lost
4 lbs.
Not 11 but good none the less. I am okay with that. So two weeks in and I am down 15 pounds.
I have sat through everyone at work eating delicious turtle pie and not caved.
I have sat through my bible study group having banana chocolate chip bread and fruit and dip and didn't cave.
I am proud of myself.
And so.............I continue on.
This week I am going to try to introduce more exercise.

First Weigh/Measure
Well today is day 7 of my weight loss/healthy choices journey, the end of week one.
Today I was able to re-measure myself and weigh myself. I am trying only step on that scale once a week. And what a surprise.
Weight loss 11lbs.
Chest -1"
Waist -2.5"
Hips -2"
Thighs -1"
I am realistic enough to not expect a week like this again. But it is so encouraging to see my determination and hard work this past week pay off.
Gold star for me this week.
Tomorrow starts week 2.

Victoria Day Challenge
Today being a holiday day was a bit of a challenge.
Not so much with feeling hungry but with ordering my day.
I slept in a bit this morning (after being wide awake from 4:30 am to 6:30 am).
So then it was a challenge to have my breakfast (Peach/Mango drink)
and then find time to make a proper lunch. So I confess I had a Chocolate Peanut bar (Ideal Protein)
for lunch and didn't have my full veggie serving. (2 cups).
So for supper I am having a bit more than 2 cups of diced rutabaga with my slice of Xtra lean ham and my tossed greens.
Bible study tonight so I am going to take my 8pm snack with me. I think I will have a chocolate ready made drink instead of making it myself.
Trying to make this plan easy on myself.

Starting out
I started a new journey last Wednesday. May 18, 2011.
It is a new weight loss journey. Because I have found myself doing some deep thinking I thought a blog might be a good place to write my thoughts.
I started using the Ideal Protein Diet last Wednesday.
I don't expect to be a skinny model, I want to be healthy enough to run around and play with my grandchildren with out struggling to keep my breath
Basically I have a protein package and vitamins for breakfast
A protein package and 2 cups of select veggies, sea salt, olive oil and all the lettuce I want for lunch
5 - 8 oz of lean protein (meat), 2cups select veggies, sea salt, olive oil and all the lettuce I can eat plus vitamin and calcium supplements for supper
A protein package for a snack at 8pm
Lots of water and black tea
The protein packages have been surprisingly tasty, the diet not as difficult to stick with as I thought it would be.
I have had my first eating out challenge and was able to switch my supper and lunch around and had a 60z sirloin, green beans, mushrooms, salad greens and water for lunch. Was it hard to watch everyone else eat home made meals and desserts that looked incredible? Yes, but not as difficult as I thought it would be.
Surprisingly it was wandering around Costco that I found hard. My mind struggled with all the great deals and not getting any of them.
I am finding it isn't so much my stomach that is struggling but my mind seems to feel a sense of loss.
